FIRST TIME WORLDWIDE - BLOOD-BRAIN BARRIER OPENED TEMPORARILY WITH MR FOCUSED ULTRASOUND IN HUMAN PATIENTS
The Canadian CTV News channel featured a great segment covering the story of Bonny Hull, 56, from Ontario who has suffered from a large brain tumor for 8 years. She recently participated in a study, where researchers at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto have succeeded to non-invasively open the blood-brain barrier (BBB), using the Exablate Neuro platform, to allow a more effective delivery of life-saving therapies, such as chemotherapy, into a patient’s malignant brain tumor.
