Siamo un gruppo interdisciplinare interessato alle applicazioni terapeutiche degli ultrasuoni guidati dalla Risonanza Magnetica (MR guided Focused Ultrasound-MRgFUS).
Nel nostro ospedale operano importante competenza di radiologia interventistica, Risonanza Magnetica, Tomografia Computerizzata, Oncologia, Radioterapia, Medicina Nucleare, Fisica Medica, Chirurgia elettiva,… che operano anche nelle diverse aree per le quali è possibile impiegare la tecnica MRgFUS. 

We are an interdisciplinary team interested in developing all the applications concerning the treatment with MR guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS). We have large experience in radiology, RF ablation, MRI, quality assurance, CT, planning in oncology.
MRgFUS that is used in our hospital focuses on all the different pathology treatable with this methodology.

LATO laboratory in collaboration with Fondazione Istituto San Raffaele G. Giglio di Cefalù offers the treatment with ExAblate MRgFUS system.
The goal of LATO is to be an oncology institute equipped with the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, with the aim to characterize both the disease in the specific patient and to give access at the modern personalized therapy. The treatments that are available are: pain palliation of bone metastases and uterine fibroids.
