Yerucham Shapira, Software R&D Director, is responsible for software development and revisions for InSightec’s Magnetic Resonance guided Focused Ultrasound system. He has held the position since 2002.
Dr. Shapira joined InSightec in 1999 as the Image Processing Team Leader. Prior to joining InSightec, Shapira spent six years at Imetrix, Ltd. As a general manager, R&D manager and algorithms team leader. He began his career at MALAM doing engineer project work.
Dr. Shapira received his Ph.D in Applied Math and Computer Science from the Weizmann Institute of Science. He also received his M.Sc. in Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science and a B.Sc in Physics from Tel Aviv University. He completed his post-doctorate training at Ben Gurion University in the department of Math and Computer Science and at Montreal School for Technology in the Laboratory for Perception and Computer Vision.
